About

Helen Fahey is a visual artist based in County Galway. Her work primarily explores the layered experiences of girls and women around the globe, Helen uses painting as a way to process the world around her. Through a visual language of her own, she creates paintings that are both intimate and socially and politically resonant.

Her most recent body of work The Children Are Always Ours contrasts the lives of girls and women in different cultural and socio-economic contexts. The series invites viewers to reflect on privilege, resilience, and the necessity to resist indifference. She was recently featured as Artist of the Month at Portershed a Dó, cultural and technological hub, in Galway.

She is currently studying for a degree in Fine Art at ATU, deepening her engagement with contemporary theory and practice while continuing to exhibit her work nationally.
